Does anyone know the distance from the kingpin to the landing gear on this trailer chassis? Just wondering if I can tow it with a 5 ton and 14.00 singles.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Brian. the one we brought from IL looked to be shorter than the M447. the M447 is a tandem i think. . Also the civi tractor was a single axle.bigbee said:Dave,
Check with Clilnt. The M348A2N trailer I sold him is on that chassis. It's the one I towed with the Civvy tractor from IL. Says it's designed to tow behind the M818 series tractor.
Rattlehead said:From a previous post of the M146 trailer recoveries from Lansing, you guys with the 818's and 11x20's said the landing gear was very close, and the 14.00x20's wouldn't clear. That is a single axle trailer, whereas the 447 is a tandem. I looked at the transport guidance manual and don't see enough info to determine clearances.
So what does the military actually tow with tractors on singles?
