M35 Id Number Help

I was hoping that someone could give me some help wit the Id numbers on my truck.

Here is what I have, all from the Dash plate

Contract # DAAE-06-70-C-0001

Stock # 2320-077-1617

ID# 04H- 66471-0539-11881

General Products Division Jeep Corporation

Door #s 04H66471

I cannot read the numbers on the axle but they are all Rockwell

Any Help would be great

You have all the information.. More than most have... Your "Hood Number" aka Registration Number is 04H 6671. Your Vin iis 0539-11881 that is series 0539 and truck 1881... they start at 10001. It is a 1970 Contract so was probably made in 70 or 71 And the 2320-077-1617 is the Federal Stock No... indicating it is a winch model... and you need to get all the Manuals in the 209 series and read them in bed for a coupla weeks.. ACE

I am not sure what you want to know. I can tell you that your truck is a 1971 mode M35A2 with winch. The VIN number is 0539-11881. The Army registration number (aka hood or door number) is 04H66471. The VIN is what the maker tracked the vehicle, and any design changes by, and is useful to civilians for titling - but the army tracked the vehicle by the registration number.

That helps a lot, I wanted to see if I was reading the date correctly. I thought it was a 1970. Now I know 1971.

I also have I THINK a 1971 M- 35 with a winch the VIN. is 04H50271 I need help to varifiy the number somehow. Could anyone let me know how I check ? Thanks Borky
