M35A2 front harness

I've to change my Deuce's front harness because it is damaged. Got a new one and started to remove the old one. Switches. mounts and screws are already unfastened. And now comes my big question mark. How can I remove the old harness in a simple way. At the moment it seems to me, I have to remove the steering gear and the front engine mount to get it out.

Is there a link to a thread, TM, a Youtube video or something else which might help me?

there are several front harnesses and they differ in how they are routed and if you had an alt or gen and if you had electronic turn signal flasher or even no turn signals. unless you are positive the new harness is exactly the same you may have other issues to solve as well. usually the old harness can be removed easily and is not behind anything that it won't slide out past. you remove the plate on the firewall and everything in the cab should come out into the engine area, the parts going forward should come towards the firewall as well. i usually mount the new harness to the firewall and work from there. pics of problem areas would help a lot.

I made some pictures today. I hope it helps to clarify the situation here.

Here we have a part of the harness coming from the cab's firewall.

And here the left hand side. Don't worry about the fuel line, I removed the primary fuel filter housing.

looks like you may have no real problem but remember, as the harness goes forward it is constantly diverging, and how it fits and how it is routed depends greatly on how the new harness was made up. in the end everything should go to the correct place and still be protected. so the route of the old may not be entirely the route of the new! i have seen front harness that split left and right at the firewall and others that entirely went down one side and came back up the other.

Tom, Just an upodate. I had to remove the front engine mount to pull the harness. There was no other solution. I'll see how the new harness will go into its position. At the moment I am still welding the cab and bed, cleaning the frame, blasting parts and painting them.
