Hopped in the truck, heard a pop and tried to start and then nothing. Ideas? Never had a problem in the past.

I’d start with checking your battery voltage and connections, make extra sure every connection is good-n-tight or your terminals will turn into Roman candles (don’t ask)

I assuming that it is electrical. Starter button, etc, definitely a power related problem. Batteries are fine, have fuel etc.. I pop I heard could have been a relay.

Could also be a ground issue, battery box ground is common, and another thing to check is before you hit your starter switch, reach under and gently wiggle the wires while you press it. Had it happen to a truck

My bet is the starter solenoid/s. Iv'e had so many go fuzzy it's not true. But usually just cleaning and re-wiring tight did the trick. (and some do have very tricky wiring circuits).

G'day everyone,....

I had that 'POP' sound and found a melted battery terminal, turned out to be a loose terminal clamp connection.

Have replaced the clamps with non lead type.

And as previously stated, check your ground connections.

Its always great piece of mind knowing they are all clean.

Aussie.
