You could buy an m923a2 for $6K, pull the 8.3L turbo Cummins engine and Allison trans, part out the remaining truck and wind up with a free drive train. The Cummins can be modded to 600 hp easily...
You would have to completely butcher the M5 to put in the cummins or anything other than a v8. No cummins 6 is going to fit under the bulkhead between the fighting compartment and engine bay. Willie has done a great job using a power plant that fits. And believe me it will have no problem moving or turning the tank. The M5 will move and turn with one of its two Caddy flatheads working...and 1940's Cadillac flatheads are NOT powerful engines...
