Has anyone been able to get standard brake light action versus the standard blackouts to work on their M52?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
If your light switch is in the service position all the lights should work . In blackout there should be a faint tail light and brake light. No I haven't yet. Just so I'm clear that there is a way to send power to the rear brake light in lieu of the black out light correct? Please excuse my ingnorance but everything I'm reading is leading to that there only is a black out function on the brake lights??
THANKS! I may have a bad light switch. If your light switch is in the service position all the lights should work . In blackout there should be a faint tail light and brake light.
The switch under the truck is bad. I believe it is the airpac/master cylinder switch you referred to. Please see attached. Do you know where I may find a good one?Have you checked the switch on the airpac/master cylinder ?
Yes...right...brakes work good...switch just isnt sending power to brake lights.Your truck has to have air pressure built up to make that switch function.

AIR OPERATED BRAKE SWITCH FOR M939 SERIES 5 TON TRUCKS. THIS SWITCH CAN BE USED AS AN UPGRADE ON OLDER 5 TON AND 2.5 TON TRUCKS TO REPLACE THE FLUID SIDE BRAKE SWITCH. IT IS HOWEVER NOT A DIRECT REPLACEMENT AND WILL REQUIRE SOME MODIFICATION TO WORK. PART # 11602160 NSN 2540-00-789-6192...www.bigmikesmotorpool.com

Sure did! Lights function as should so isolating to switching mechanism..
Any chance that you used a short piece of wire to "jumper" the switch - so you can see that the lights function - and that the switch does not?
