That's one of my worst "the one that got away" stories. I let a M748A1 with a fresh rebuilt motor slip by at Ft. Meade. If I had known at the time what I was looking at I'd probably have it.

Looks like a military version of a west coast log truck.
Wonder where the trailer part is at?
The truck is not very usefull without the trailer part.

Would that be one of those bolster trailers that Wreckerman got?Tinny little tires but have log bunk type things on it and the frame extends.

b. Equipment.

(1) 5-Ton, Cargo Long Bed. This truck is the primary vehicle used when constructing military pipelines. It is used to pull the 4-ton bolster trailer, to transport pipe to the construction site, and to haul valves, couplings, and soldiers to and from the construction site.

(2) 4-Ton Bolster Trailer. This is a dual-axle trailer with four bolster attachments and an adjustable tow boom (Figure 2-22). The bolster trailer is the primary means for transporting pipe from construction staging areas to the construction site. Pipe or tubing sections rest on each bolster assembly and are contained by the side stakes and binder chains or straps.

The one they show in the manual I have is a single axle type trailer and they pull it up on top of the truck like underdog shows on that civi unit. Now where are all the trailers for them? The saga continues..
