M818 won't run

My m818 had a cracked fuel line that was replaced, we got it running, drove it for the whole day and then
the following day it started right up for 5 seconds and died. There was no fuel in the pump. The fuel filter is
brand new and I can't find any leaks. I can get it going by filling the pump and hand priming it but the following
day it will do the same thing.

Is the little plate on plate of the fuel filter under the bolt that holds the filter together FLAT and IN the recess, if not it will NOT seal the o-ring, which means you WILL suck air.
