We went over this morning with two tractors, my M1008 and a low deck trailer and loaded up the goodies. The M871 has new air brake pots, new wiring, really nice tires and new lights. All the side panels are there and in good condition. We loaded two M105s on it and three M105s on the low deck. I jacked up the remaining M105, checked the bearings, it feels like everything is new, hooked it to my M1008 and we headed home. Everything was nice and slick, the GL folks were great, we had a little glitch at first, now power at the site. Hard to use electric gates with no power.

We got eleven new 900X20 NDTs out of the deal and all of the trailers were overhauled in 2007 and do not appear to have ever been plugged into a truck. I know the one I pulled had no marks at all on the insulator boot, does now though. 8)

Once home I went through and picked out the straightest box of the six, naturally it was the one with the torn cover. If anybody needs anything for a M105, we should have it for a little while. The pigtails all look new, tail lights are all good, air hoses look great, I am betting they all have new bearings and brakes too.

We had a really stiff south east wind and that M105 was like an air brake on my old M1008, I ran 45 most of the way home, could not get that out of it pulling the hill to the Interstate, going into the wind. I normally only run 48, so I laid off the fuel and drove easy going up the hill. Glen

I took a partner on this deal, so I am not in a position to sell trailers, they are smoking nice though. I was lucky enough to get one for cost and my fuel expense. I tried to pick the straightest one of the bunch, they are really nice, some have some places where the upper lip was bent and straightened, maybe they were that way new, three of the six though, look about as nice as I have seen. I just wanted one for camping gear and parade duty. I cannot imagine that I really need one....but who knows....

I originally bid on them for the tires for my deuce, it seems like a horrible miscarriage of justice to crush something that nice. That is just the economics of this trip though. I will have some nice lights, pigtails, and other small stuff available. I see they have air tanks and rear stands, are those items a guy should try to save? I plan to grab a few air lines, one of which I can use on my deuce for air tools.

I walked through those water buffaloes a while back, they were in long rows and not a single one had a lid. I cold not believe it, what good is a water tank with no lid? I know a guy can find a lid and clean the tank again, but it just seemed really odd to me.

The M871 has 9 really nice 1100x20 Goodyear tires on it. It just seems like a horrible waste. The hoses look new, all the lights and reflectors are new, the brakes were good and made no noise, if I only had a M818.... LOL...

The rear stabilizer leg is a very nice thing to have on an M105(or M101), if your going to use it while it is not connected to a vehicle. I would save all you have, someone will want them eventually.

I haven't found any good use for the air tanks yet.

The trailer air control valves are occasionally needed by guys that buy trailers from GL and have Fork Lift damage to the valves.

I would save all air hose/glad hands. They can be used on all air brake trailers or for air tool use or whatever.

Tail lights are nice to have on hand too.

Jack type landing legs are real back savers and very easy to swap out(from the old style)

I buy trailers for the tires, whenever I need new tires.

Is the M871 getting scrapped? Razer(FL) and I both need landing legs for M146 trailers. Not sure if they are the same.

Thanks Doghead! I will take some good photos of the landing gear for you, I guess I have a lot to learn, it seems like such a waste, that trailer is nice, has a good solid floor, good tires, good brakes, new lights, it seems like it would have lots of service life left.... need any measurements? I have a buddy looking for a set of 5 all metal bows for a M105 if your selling them and willing to ship.

The one with the torn cover has a Pribbs body on it.. Made in the last 10-12 years or so.. Nice score.

Are the trailers getting scrapped? If so save any small parts that you can unbolt.

If the price is right I'd like to buy a good cover.

If you look close on the back behind the wheel well there are 2 side braces the others have just 1. Thats what I see.

I did not check to see what it is, but that is the straightest one of the bunch. The floor even looks new. I was going to keep it and swap landing gears with one of the other ones as the release on that one stick something horrible. The difference is obvious, now that you drug me by my nose to it. 8)

I am not sure what it would cost to ship those bows, but I am sure I can make them very reasonable. Not much weight value there. I can bundle them up if he wants to check into freight from 67401. Glen
