Antique Plates only cover 9,999lbs or less - Anything over 10K lbs you have to have a weighted tag or commercial unless its a "RV" .

Clause - Transport tags , for Antique non commerical trucks or MV's to be used to and from Events , prades , etc.

Speaking of RV classification I have a long wheelbase International semi truck that I was going to put a larger sleeper on and convert it to an RV. Kind of a Toterhome on steriods. It has a Cummins 350 with a 13 speed Roadranger tranny. If you are interested in a trade let me know.

After speaking to the DMV officer today, transporter plates DO NOT cover any vehicle that is capable of towing a fifth wheel type trailer, according to him,YOU MUST have a weighted tag for the weight of the vehicle and load.

The plate will however cover the tractor by itself while driving to shows, parades, and the like, but you are not allowed to tow a trailer legally.

Here in WI... you can get collector plates for a military tractor.... now.. with collector plates you can not haul more then 500 pounds. Here is the loop, I asked about trailers and She said "the trailer is totality separate". The trailer is its own thing. So you are able to use collector plates and "tow" what ever you want as long as the trailer has the correct weight plate.

AMG...you forgot about the annual $550.00 Federal Heavy Highway Tax!!!
Any vehicle that can carry over 56K lbs....but it can be exempted if driven less than 7K miles per year.
The bigger the truck the bigger the headaches....at least in Georgia.

Actually the price they gave you including insurance is a bargain...did that include cargo insurance?? Bet not.

As much as I loved "Jessica" (the 915 in question) I had the same issue.....even with farm tags and insurance (limiting me to in-state operation only) my overhead was about $1500.00 a year and I could not recoup it just picking up stuff for folks at Redstone and Annistion.
Since most of my disposable income has been disposed of before I get it I had to let her go.

That being said AM.......will you take a M275 in trade....I'll throw in the 200 HP engine I stole from Freighttrain (what goes around comes around)?????
