Do you see a registration number on the truck? It will be a set of 6 letters/digits and will almost definately start with a N. If there is a 0 it is a zero not an o as in oscar. If there is a 1, it is a one not a I as in india. Biggest pet peeve and dumba@@ mistake people make in translating the numbers.
If so, get it and trott you butt over to the 2013 VIN INFO thread on this very website and that will help validate your number. (and I sit here in amazement that you hadn't done so already).
Use the cross between the dataplate and vin info to help find the vin on the frame but you must validate it by the frame. Any bone head can repaint registration number or change out a dataplate.
Also, don't use the registration number when registering your vehicle. It is strickly an Army thing and not a manufacturer thing. Many have, many do but technically, it is not correct.
