I have himhawed around and dillydicked around for too long
getting myself into a frenzy
over this silly license plate issue and getting my M925A1 up to
vehicle code. You need a plate mount that is solid and a light for
the plate as well to keep Johnnie-Law off your back.
The left or right side metal splash guard above the mud flap
is a good place to mount it BUT, you have to deal with the
two 1" tall strongbacks, or ribs in the splash guard.
I have settled on THIS set up and thought I would share.
When I meet up w/ the Squatch before long, as I await
MY FREAKING TITLE from GL, when I have it in hand
I will head that way and get these parts installed and
take a few pics...
The light and it's unseen "Y" Splitter and long cord can be
found at ERIKS and the 2, metal licence plate mounts
can be found at etrailer dot com, nuts and bolts
can be had at your local hardware store as well as
the 2 spacers you see behind the lights bracket...
I guess you could ditch one of the two brackets but
I want my plate solid and not getting bent-up when
you go to wash so I think i will go w/ two brackets,
paintem' 383 Green and run it ...
