I need an alternator for my m944a1 truck. I seem to remember something about the 939 series trucks having a different alt then m809 series trucks. Is that true or will any m35,m818 etc alt work?
Anybody have a source for an alternator and what do I need to watch out for.
I also need a windshield glass(with frame) for the drivers side. Thanks, Ross

Hi Ross.I believe that it is the same alternator as m35's and 800's but may have a different pulley diameter.A2's might be a different story since they have the serpentine belt.I know that the A3 deuce uses the same old alternator but has a serpentine pulley. If you need pulley dimensions,I can measure mine.Greg

Same mil-spec 60 amp 24 Volt alt as deuces, 715's, many others. Pulley is special for each application. Memphis had the serpentine pulley for my A2, maybe they have the A1.
