Anyone know how I locate a hemmt close to me. I'm in northeast Pa looking to see one up close before buying one. Any advice?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
There's only about ~140 in private hands, spread out across the country... Unless you get lucky to find someone near you, you're probably going to spend a day driving to see one.Anyone know how I locate a hemmt close to me. Is the Jake break working? After I put a new engine in mine I left the Jake unhooked as it wasn't working right before. I want to hook it back up but I'm not sure where all of the wires go.
I have all of the manuals but the wire schematics are confusing.
So far I have replaced the motor, alternator, batteries and the PTO solenoid. I also removed the ether start system and added a block heater. Lots of work but these trucks are awesome.
Are you going to the Sussex MV show in April. I will probably be there with my M977.Anyone know how I locate a hemmt close to me. I'm in northeast Pa looking to see one up close before buying one. Any advice?
It's on the right side of the trans. It has 2 wires and 3 hoses connected to it. 2 of them go to the PTO.I cannot seem to find the PTO solenoid anyplace can you point me in the right direction for this part? I have a 986 that needs this part replaced. Thank you very much!

There's a member here who has one in northern Virginia.Anyone know how I locate a hemmt close to me. I'm in northeast Pa looking to see one up close before buying one. Any advice?
I searched all over and this is the cheapest option I could find. Almost $200.Any idea where I can purchase new replacement solenoids?
That is the great debate, maybe need a vote because I'm impartial.Looks great! Are you making the headlight box next or just make a pass through hole in the armor?
True the only added benefit would but cut the holes and good to go vs fabbing a box and rewiring lights... To get to the hemtts lights is a task since they are buried behind the dash and all air components, I would rewire to their junction box for an easy job.Personnaly, I like the look of the headlight box. I also have a feeling that you will get better lighting with the box as opposed to pass through holes. Just my .
Be careful, some Army mechanics I've spoken with told me the HEMTT drives like a pig with the cab armor on.Making some progress on the hemtt and also putting her to work. So the CPK may not be an exact copy of the factory armor, but its functional and looks good i think. I do need to make headlight mounts or cut the holes out for the originals.
I could believe that, it is rather amazing how the road manners change when you put 5-6 tons in the bed. It's not bad empty, but it settles down much more nicely with weight on the back end.Be careful, some Army mechanics I've spoken with told me the HEMTT drives like a pig with the cab armor on.
So far I put the grill because the military decided to take mine off haha it's probably all Ill do, so far only 550lb.Be careful, some Army mechanics I've spoken with told me the HEMTT drives like a pig with the cab armor on.
