Anyone else put headlight guards on a M35? Are the M998 headlights different or are the guards just very generic and poorly made as far as fit? I think I had about 20 minutes each side modifying to make them work.

I have an A2c, do you think the dropside will make much difference? Send me a set and I will let you know!

I bought headlight guards for my truck. I used the first set on the LED Route Clearance lights under the bumper. I installed one on the headllights to see what it would look like and then took it back off before I went to the Gilbert Show. I think I might out them back on to protect the LED Headlights. I can take pictures of what I have installed if you want.

personally i think it is a good idea. with the price of headlights the way it is saving one of them would help pay for the guards. i have seen some pretty nice ones at the 4x4 shops that were not horribly expensive

i bought them and installed them on my LED headlights and when i went to install them the little bar in the grill just under the headlights was in the way and i had to take them off. i am going to unscrew the bar and drill new holes to lower it, but, i am in the middle of some other projects on this truck right now.

ps, i had to reverse the mounting pieces to get it to fit without drilling larger holes, poor design.

I haven't got around to installing them on my headlights yet this week. Here they are installed on my Truclight LED Route Clearance Light I have mounted under the bumper. All I had to do was flaten the tabs out to mount them.

Got a lucky on these lights... picked up 2-work beam and 2-spot Route Clearance Lights off Craiglist for $300.00!
I couldn't pass up the deal when they cost more than that for 1 light from Trucklight.

I am in the process of figuring out where I want to mount the 2-spot lights on the truck. Possibly mount them as Rear Back-up Lights... other thought was to make custom brackets off windsheild hinges to moun them there like on a Jeep. Still a concept on paper for right now.

They are great lights, we have multiples of them on all the MRAPs over here. They hold up well to vibration and can actually take a pretty good pounding. Unfortunately, it may be a few more years until the price on the civilian side starts to come down on them. Maybe as the military demand slows, prices will become more reasonable.

I have a set of LED headlights and at their price, headlight guards are worth it. Thanks Darwin for the pics.

I had to reverse how they mount compared to MACCUS's lights (mine absolutely wouldn't work) I shortned the uprights 3/8", re-drilled, reversed the clamps and it works great. (notice the bullet hole?).
