Does any one know where I can source a Mep 006a rear oil seal ?
Part number 3054VG2.

Oshkosh has it but sit down before you look at the price!
If you try searching by the engine you may find more results. I also found a Federal Mogul PN. when I searched your PN, you can try checking with any parts store who carries Federal Mogul and see if it is available or not.

Having replaced more then several of them, you might as well do the front seal also. Cheap insurance. And as long as I had the engine out, there is a few other things I would do. Depends on the hours on the set. And trusting the hour meter on any milatary gen set is like buying a big bridge in San Francisco.

Thanks everyone I found a source for front and rear seals. Yes they are pricey !

Have you done this before? Did the gen set come with the jacking stands? Have you read the procedure for engine removal?. Its not hard, but the procedure will help you do it simply and faster then just tearing into it.
