I recently purchased a MEP 016E. It was missing the voltage regulator. I bought the SX460 and wired it in place. I put in the 5 amp fuse as shown on one of the details I found. After starting it up, it was only putting out about 33 volts set to the 120V 1P setting. I tried adjusting the voltage but nothing changed. I checked the voltage with a meter as well to ensure the guage was correct. After shutting it back down, I found the 5 amp fuse blown.
Now it was back to checking wiring, All the generator wires T1-T6 and Field leads were disconnected when I bought this and using the wiring diagram inside the box, I reconnected everything. I remember reading on here about an updated wiring that included gounding the L0 terminal. I could not find anything on here describing that change, But this has apparently been done and the L0 is connected differently than the diagram. So I could just go back to how the diagram shows but I want to know more details as to why this was rewired and should I leave it that way.
I have the TM for the 016B but couldn't find anything on the 16E. Anybody got any recommendations or more info on this new wiring. I would like to leave it with the ability to switch to 3P.
