MEP-802a Oil Leak

I have a refreshed 802a with less than 200 hours on it with an oil leak. It seems to be coming from the to on the intake/valve cover area. I ordered a valve cover gasket for it.

My question is there any other place anyone has seen an oil leak from in the upper portion of these generators? It’s pouring out at a pretty good rate. In the photo I took while it was running you can see the oil pooling up while vibrating. (You know how these two cylinder motors are)

Are you certain its not diesel fuel? I would suspect that you have seeping/leaking fuel return lines since its up top. Certainly a valve cover could leak.. but I've yet to experience it. I have experienced every conceivable leak from the return line (and the Ts they tie to) up top though.

Stick your finger in the oil in the bottom of the set. Check it out. Rub it between your fingers. Is it thick? Or thin? Sniff it. Smell like diesel?

Yes I’m positive it’s oil. After running about eight hours it will be a quart plus low. I touch it and it’s definitely motor oil.

it’s definitely an oil leak. Oil does not run uphill. Outside of the valve cover is there any place on the top of the engine near the intake and valve cover that oil would leak from? Any sensors tied in to the oil path? I ordered a new valve cover gasket to start but I don’t want to tear that down to find something else there.

Nothing up there besides the valve covers and the silicone O-rings around the shoulders of the "nuts" that hold them on..... that would leak oil.
On the 2 valve cover nuts with fuel line clamps on them, make sure they put the O-ring into the recess in the valve cover, then the fuel line clamp over the O-ring, then the nut on top. The O-ring does not go on the shoulder of those 2 particular nuts.

Looking at the engine TM it says PN 201-81200 which is also part of gasket kit PN 186-3210 or 186-6212.... which is the full engine gasket kit.
Or here is a replacement:

NSN 5330-01-087-7373.

But not the same OEM orange silicone.
To be honest, you could easily take an old one out, measure it and get them for $.05 each at a place like www.throringstore.com
