MEP 802A trailer attachments

Just picked this unit up. What are the pipe clamps for? There are a pair on each side of the unit. Clamp down two lengths of PVC pipe? For what purpose? Thanks.

My 802/116A3 had the same bracket system.

Best of my knowledge, they were Comm support power units. I was told the two sets of clam shells carried a portable mast, and the front triangles carried a spool of cable.

Never learned of any tech data to support/confirm, so I'm interested to learn specifics also.

Correct. There are TM's that explain the who, how, what of the PU set. The cable reel is also kinda handy.

You don't want to know how many mast clamps, cable reel holders, jerry can mounts and fire extinguisher mounts I've chucked over the years!
Was letting them pile up, but never found a viable use for much of it so eventually scrapped a lot of it.

I rarely put in the effort to take them off. Some of those bolts were a PITA to locate top and bottom, so I'd just let the next owner deal with them.

Totally understand that. i'm looking for a mast setup itself. I have plenty of reels and mounts as well.
