What type and gauge of wire are you all using to replace the existing glow plug harness?

The info IS in the TM, but was a PITA to find:

Part number is: 88-20540-8, (there is 4-5 other part numbers that will also come up with this type wire)

NSN is: 6145-00-284-0657
6145-00-690-9320
6145-00-578-7512
6145-00-635-4816
As you can see, there are several different NSNs for this wire. It has been manufactured by 4 or 5 different companies. The top NSN is probably the most current NSN.

It is an 8 AWG, but has special characteristics. See below. It is AIRCRAFT grade wire. But any wire that is the right size, and has the temperature rating will probably work. I supose that if you ask at a specialty firm, that deals with wire, the description below would make sense to them. Keep in mind, this wire gets HOT.

That was interesting!

I plugged the NSN into my browser and found several places that might sell it. Send a email to them and ask if they sell short pieces, or only bulk. Only cost you a little time, but no money.

All those are 500 ft reels, and its MTW wire... which is not the same.

Mil-spec M5086/2-8-9

If your local electric supply shop wont sell by the foot - sometimes you can find wire by the foot or short sections on your favorite auction site.

Boat and aircraft repair is also something that came to mind.
