Has anyone made or know where to get a subtank for the 803a? Need to run for a few days without refueling.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Its what we did. % ton tank, with a platform to sit on, with casters. Worked great. I seem to remember that we took a fuel tank level sender, off a MEP-oo3A and screwed it into the tank. Adjusted it for the amount of fuel in the tank, and it worked like a charm.I am about to do the same thing but not a drum. Looks like shit and want to leave it near the generator house which is in view of the road. I had hernia surgery one week before this last storm and my wife and two girls were out there trying to lift the Scepter fuel cans to refuel. Have to figure something out. I have a fuel tank off a 5 ton that I may try to use. Lots of posts in here about it....
Nice...i like the casters! I have even considered putting a small in ground tank next to it but unsure about the ability to draw the fuel up. I got some research to do before I get serious. Will probably put it off and next hurricane season wish I did it .Its what we did. % ton tank, with a platform to sit on, with casters. Worked great. I had mine on the 16th. It is the hernia where they cut me from belly button north about 5". I am extremely active with the trucks and on the land...almost OCD about getting things done daily. I was told 4 weeks for no lifting etc. And I do agree it will be at least that long. I assisted in doing some small limb cleaning post storm today and wish I didnt do that. I do have a gut so that is 100% part of my slow recovery. Riding in cars is not fun either. I was told hernia surgery is no big deal, well there may be a difference between WHERE it is, but for me, this one is getting me down. Do what the doc says, I took the pain pills for the first two days and felt like shit...any cutting on your core is gonna suck. I hope you have a quick recovery!!Off the subject Chief, how's your surgery recovery going? I'm going under the knife next Monday the 9th for bi-lateral hernia surgery.
Doc says no lifting more than 25 lbs. for 6 weeks! Like that's gonna be possible!
I had foot surgery like 10 years ago and was outside in the snow that afternoon, on crutches prepping to install one of those Roth double wall fuel oil tanks in the basement.
You looking to do something like this? Thanks for the ideas guys. I need a subtank cause the issue is space. I have my 803a in a shed and dont have the space for a drum.
I like. Looks like I need to do some preps to make next storm season a little easier!Check out this link: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threa...ose-for-wavian-nato-cans.181889/#post-2229291
I let the aux. fuel pump do the jerry can lifting. I use the European jerry cans for fuel, so this adapter would not seal as well with your Scepters.
Wise words! And I know exactly when my hernia(s) got worse.....putting 53's on my M923a2 Rims. All to save $400. That is what it would cost to have the tire place come to my house and do it. Will be making better choices from now on.You two knuckle heads need to take better care of your body's. You are going to end up limping and groaning, and looking like old men, way before your time. If I knew back in the day, what I would feel like now, I sure as hel* would have treated my body better. If the man tells you no lifting, then its sound advice to follow. This is advice I sure wish I had followed. Saith an old limping, groaning, pain wracked Southern Gentleman.
