MEP-804A/B fuel float switch replacement - non-existent??

Is your float design for a MEP803? I'm asking because I thought the tank on my MEP802 was only six inches deep.

It is for an 804A/B I thought that's what this thread was about. Yes BTW you can just unplug the float switch and it will not shut down on low fuel. You can run the generator out of fuel though.

802 and 803 have different length switches, yes. You can disconnect the switch and jump (2) pins together for now. The pins were just covered in a recent thread.

If for any reason you are unable to access the switch, the nuclear option would be to use the battle short to have it ignore that fault... just know it ignores all faults at that point. Only use if you really have to, for as short an amount of time, as you have to.

I talked to Pete at Liquid Level today. He is going to get me a quote for a single 5.5" float switch.

Also, contacted Green Mountain to see if they had an estimate for restocking the original float switch. They do not have an estimate but said they may be able to find a single float replacement. Waiting on their reply to my email.

I did order it and received it but thought I had fixed the original in the mean time. I recently went to for up the gen and give it some exercise and realized the problem persists so I need to install the aftermarket float. The short answer is no I haven't installed and tested it yet. Sorry. I do have faith that it's going to work though.

I've got a concept for something to replace the functions of the float switch, A9 Float module and fuel level sensor. Similar to how the AAMPS does it.
I'll work on it when I return from vacation.

I've been actively working on this to provide the MEP community a solution for the hard to find Float Switches and Fuel Level senders.
Today I bench tested a breadboard version and it worked well.
Ording some PCB's Monday to build a few prototypes and fully test in my 802A.
Assuming the solution checks out good it should work in in any MEP-802, 803, 804A, 804B, 805A and 806A.

Can someone tell me the depth of the fuel tank in an 804? The distance from the top mounting surface where fuel level sender mounts to the bottom on the tank? Same for the 805 and 806 if someone has that info too. Many thanks!
