What kind of interlock is that ??? Looks like a button cap with a flat spot...?

It is a round metal button , flat spot ensure that only one of the opposing brake can be ON at the time

Can you walk us through your setup with more detail? Looks interesting, but a little hard to follow from the pictures.

Great pics looks like a pro did it . my problem is I have one wire from my house panel to the sub panel at the gen. This is also the feed from gen to the house . I need a fool proof wat to isolate the gen from possible back feed from utility . I'm hoping [ if possible ]to put in an auto start control I maybe over thinking this
