Just back from my first visit to the Military Museum of Texas in Houston. http://www.texasmuseum.org/display.htm
What a cool place... and as a bonus, my tour guide was Ken from Steelsoldiers! The pictures don't do it justice... and if you have the MV disease (and if you are reading this you are at least in severe danger of catching it, if it is not too late already) you have got to go and see it... the only downside was they wouldn't let me drive an M-113 home!!!

I would recommend you visit the Texas National Guard museum at Camp Mabry, in Austin. They have a nice collection to include running vehicles, including a Hetzer.

Those are all the pics I took... I could have stayed and looked at the green iron all day but the 3 yr old I had in tow was getting pretty fidgety... there are more pics on the site I posted the link to, plus there is at least one member here who is a sponsor at the museum who migh be able to help...

Okay, above pic: I see a M151A2 jeep, a M923 cargo truck in desert livery with the M114 APC on a lowboy trailer, looks like a M813 cargo truck behind it, a M54 cargo behind that, and a desert tan M35A2 bringing up the rear. Did I miss anything?

Also, question is, how many folks would see that rolling batch of historic iron and see it as an active duty unit? :)

My answer would be plenty.

Being a reenactor, I've worn my Civil War Federal Uniform to numerous places and been told "thank you for serving in Iraq" etc. It's even more scary when you're wearing a WW2 German Heer uniform or an FJ uniform and people say the same things.

Why yes, that's our new govt bald eagle logo on our breast....

The museum has some great vehicles, most all of which are operational, and a really nice bunch of folks running the place.
They don't have the M813A1 in that convoy pic anymore though, they let me drive it home a couple of years ago!

That pic was from a parade we did a couple of years ago. Your right we don't have that tractor anymore but we got a better one with a winch.

I went with @Madmedic yesterday to the museum (now The National United States Armed Forces Museum) to help work on his MP CUCV display.

This is Madmedic’s other display:

While there, I had to check everything else out!

Like the Panhard:

Oh, and it was my first time to see a Truck, Tractor, Wrecker, 5-Ton 6X6, M819 W/W in person:
