The trailers that went in GA where not MK17's. They where mostly MK14-simple trailer version for the MK48 FPU. Several MK18A1 units recently went-all where rebuilt 2 hour fresh units. The went really inexpensively. MK18 has a hook for loading a container or large dumpster. They come with a large hydraulic winch as well.

The MK18 were mainly designed for deploying/retreiving the folding ribbon bridge system, also will load containers. The folding ribbon bridge system TM covers the MK18

The MK17 units are heavy in the rear and do not behave well behind regular tractors. There is no tongue weight. Moving one around a base with a pintle hitch is one thing and running down the highway at road speed quite another. Bumps in the road will find the MK17 lifting the rear of the tow vehicle clean off the road.
