Veteran of the Great Patriotic War “moved” to the T-72B3 tank.
93-year-old World War II veteran Gabdrauf Salyakhovich Gareev, driver of the legendary T-34 tank, moved to T-72B3.

After a briefing on safety requirements, the veteran fulfilled his long-standing desire: he sat down at the levers of the tank and in practice evaluated its combat capabilities. Gabdrauf Gareev was pleased with his travel.

“This is the best gift not only for the birthday, which will be very soon, on April 14, but also for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War,” Gabdrauf Gareev emphasized.

Nice post, Tracer. Not so familiar with the Buran.

Made me want to do my homework, and ran across this (but maybe you already know all about it):

There is some truth to this popular mechanics story. The AN-225 was developed because Russia didn't have a large commercial airliner to transport the Buran. NASA used the 747 to transport the space shuttle, and it worked quite well. Here is the 2nd AN-225 still in the hangar. I hope one day this aircraft will fly.http___cdn.cnn.com_cnnnext_dam_assets_180831153107-antonov-fedykovych-8.jpg
