You sir are an extremely lucky man to live there ! I have wanted to live in Alaska for years, but could never convince the wife to move. My father helped work on building the ALCAN highway in the 30's and the stories of how beautiful it was are still with me. I have only gotten to the lower cities like Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan , but never into the interior.

moved 25yrs ago from SoCal and never regretted it, it is a great place to raise a family, winters seem to be getting longer but that's ok I'll deal with it
