I left my truck and brand new trailer in Alabama, and sometime late in April or early May I'm going to bring it home to NY. Truck bed is approx. 14x7 and the trailer is 20' with an additional 5' with the ramps folded. Finding some thing(s) to offset the cost of Diesel would be nice! Of course this is contingent on it not selling while it's parked down there.

Non related question. Why would you leave a free state like BAMA to move to a nanny state like NY?

Uncle Sam sent me here and that's where we settled. Being 8 hours from NYC changes the entire landscape and quite a bit of the Politics, still the State has its nose stuck so far up our arses that they know what we just ate. Two more years (or less) and I'm out of here in fact I just applied for a couple jobs near the FL/AL line.

I too am getting ready to transfer up to NYC this summer, IAW Uncle Sam's wishes. Gonna be leaving A LOT of firearms behind due to legality issues:roll:. Some of us just dont have a choice in the matter.

It's a good eight hour ride from Fort Drum/Watertwown to downtown Manhattan....FAR better that way. As for Firearms: NYS just passed the "SAFE" act which heavily discriminates against anything that looks like a Military Rifle and magazines over ten rounds. DO NOT, ABSOLUTLY DO NOT bring handguns. Send an e-mail or IM for more details. I sit on this board: http://nysrpa.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68&Itemid=77and also post on firearms matters here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_8/9_New_York.html

Here's one of our site rules that we think is simple, clear and easy to follow.

• Do not post material dealing with the sale or use of alcohol, tobacco, or firearms. The exception to the rule would be the discussion of rifle mounts or ring-mounts.

Thanks for the warning. My Brooklyn native wife, probably never thought in a million years that a deuce and a half would be rolling through her old neighborhood with her sitting passenger:driver:. It should be interesting.

Here's another simple rule.

• Do not post in all CAPS or in giant run-on sentences without punctuation. Do not post as if texting and do avoid the use of texting abbreviations. We are not the grammar police but we want everyone to easily read your post in at least 8th grade English. It is extra work to post proper sentences from a smartphone but the result will be greatly appreciated. Please do your best to use capitalization, proper spelling and punctuation. It makes it easier for everyone to read!

"Is there many members here from AZ" I believe that title violates your 8th grade rule. We learned that (plural) rules back in 4th or 5th grade! My teeth grit every time i see it! :(

You may want to consult with an exterminator about that bug up your * * *. DH was the one who stated "your post in at least 8th grade English" . I was bringing to his attention about an example that didn't pass 4th grade English and no one corrected it! Of course you had to jump in a stick your nose in it and take it to extreme. How does that help fix the problem. At least I try to use the spell check and use proper grammar in my posts. If I had the ability I would make correction in other posts to help clean up the threads.

FWIW: The plan to head down and back has been pushed off another couple weeks due to Insurance woes; on the up side I've an opportunity to possibly purchase a LOT of green iron this weekend.
