My father in law had a 1972 and then a 1991 Niva; he gave the 91 to his nephew, and it is still on the road. Not too much change stylistically. Good vehicle. He loved his Niva.

Wierdest thing with buying a car in Russia...and this info is dated by about 15 years since that was the last time I was involved with helping my father in law look into a new car...the new cars at that time did not come with radios! It seemed as though everything was extra. I will say that the car we were looking at was an import, not a Russian car, so maybe that had something to do with it. It just seemed strange to me to walk in to look at a new car and you are staring at a huge gap in the middle of the dash. Also, I don't believe test driving was a thing back then. Has that changed?

Our families and friends really enjoyed that ..party...And the drive outs.

In Xosta near Xosta river today January 24 2022. Notice monument to Great Patriotic War in background. What is this vehicle?
LuAZ-969M

PS Yesterday there was a holiday in your city: January 25 is a special date for us, residents of the Voronezh Territory. It was on this day in 1943 that the troops of the 60th Army under the command of General Ivan Chernyakhovsky, during the Voronezh-Kastornenskaya offensive operation, finally drove the Nazi invaders out of Voronezh.

Be sure to visit the memorial near Rzhev and the Memorial of Glory on the Sambek Heights.

I spent a couple weeks in Voronezh but never got around to visiting those sites. I'll make a point of it if I ever go back there.

What is the situation regarding your plans on the move at this time?
Well I've been cooling my heels down in the Sochi area all winter. I'm honestly not able to make plans at this point. I'm hoping RF won't force me to leave by rejecting my tourist visa or something like that. I'm considering heading down into Abkhazia until this crap blows over.

I do not think 'they' will reject an application of that, ( Your ) type..
But, you never know,..Some recipricle 'kick back's....Kick back'..All very sad the whole situation..Could have been, ( And was, ) totally avoidable.
Same as, Like,...."giza' no fly zone then we will ( ALL!? ),be SO much better off"...' Kin' Ummer..With..A..'third world....?!.

This is all so sad and depressing, I can not bring myself to watch the News..
( That I am allowed! to watch anymore.)

It is also EXTREMELY difficult to give any objective and balanced advice to our younger members anymore.

I have never prayed before...Perhaps..This is THE time to ......
