multifuel cab heater question

So I bought a m51a2, thats a 5 ton dump if I didn't get my m's right, about a month ago for my excavating business.

For a cab heater is has a "multifuel personel heater" as oposed to a standard heater core running off the radiator set up.

What are the pro's and con's of this set up? Does it have a separate fuel tank?

Also how does it work, i think the heater may have set for quite awile, are they any start up precautioins?

First of all, if you want to sell it, I need some parts.


Second - Pro's - don't need to wait til the engine warms up for hot air/defrost, no separate fuel tank - it should draw off of one of the main tanks.
Cons - little more complicated, more parts and stuff to go wrong.

Basically it has its own fuel pump, pumps fuel into a burner and produces heat. If you look under a member's name of cranetruck, he has written a few good articles/posts on this heater.

Does any one have the electric cord for one of these heaters? From the control to the heater.

With the info from the image below, you should be able to put together your own cable. The point to point wiring is shown in the second image (same for all versions and note drawing error, which I have found in all diagrams in all TMs. The "HI" is not energized during the "START" operation).

Manual says it draws fuel off of the main tank.
You have must have something special/modified.
Do you have picture of the tank iunder the hood.
