Having spent a considerable chunk of my life "just across the bridge" from you guys, I always like it when you show up on here.

You have my attention Jeremy. First, I need to thank you for keeping the past and secondly for triggering my memory.

I thought I saw "Ontario Regiment" on some family documents and your post made me dig back through some files.

I don't have my head around all the divisions and regiments yet so not quite sure how many "Ontario's" there were but nearly 100 years ago my Great Uncle served with the 'Central Ontario Regiment'.

On Aug. 5, 1914 Canada's Governor General declared war and my uncle chose to contribute.

So far it looks like our Governmental reps, historians and museums do some amazing work keeping our past at the tips of our fingers so Thank You again for being part of that.
