Hi, My name is Brian Bousquet. I am a musician from VT. On my days off I travel to the local VA hospital to play and sing for the vets. I have started a non-profit organization to help pay for the travel expenses. I am going to run with a new idea of playing for handicapped vets at their homes, and my promotion idea is that now I am going to be the music medic, I will be traveling in an military ambulance. I'm hoping with this idea contributions will be more available, giving me room for expansion, then I will have the capabilities of reaching many shut in vets. This is my main goal in life. These men and women need my help, and I just have to find a way deliver. Does anyone have an ambulance for sale? If not, do you have any resources that could locate one for me. Any advise on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, sincerly, Brian Bousquet, Music For Our Vets.

Welcome to the forum, Brian. You neglected to mention what kind of music you play, but your idea is great. As a frequent visitor to the VA hospitals I know from experience that such visitors are rare and extremely welcome. Keep up the great work. You'll find plenty of info about ambulances on this site. Other sources for ambulance info are the M37 forum (www.g743.org) and the M715 Zone (www.m715zone.com). There are ambulances available, but if you want one that's ready for work, it will probably be a bit on the expensive side. They're much cheaper if you have to do a lot of work to get 'em roadworthy.

That is a noble endeavor Sir.......there are many vets at VA hospitals that look forward to visits from kind folks such as yourself.
Yes...very noble indeed.
When you get rolling please do not forget the older vets in nursing homes etc. I can tell you first hand that some of them are sent to the homes by relatives and pretty much forgotten.

I have an extra M43 Ambulance with a good body I might donate but it needs an engine and hard telling what else.
Problem would be transpo from GA to VT...THAT would cost more than you could find one closer for.

At any rate...you are on a good mission.

The best place to advertise your need for a vehicle is in the classifieds ads section.

This can be found at the top of the page under "resources". You can optionally post about what you want to do with it, and that is up to you.

If you have never bought a military truck before:
Because asking for a truck can get you anything from a beater to a restoration, You might be sure to state what level of mechanical or cosmetic condition you want, and any other accessories for it that you want. There are many, many things to check on an old military vehicle. Be sure to read the manual on it so you know what to ask prospective sellers.

Thank you for your work and plan to help veterans!
