We use the Garmin hand held. Not sure model. Has texting so we can send updates to family.Looking for some suggestions on a wired real-time LTE GPS tracking system for Reis. I have found many, just looking for some expert opinions, anyone have any insider information.
I am leaning towards subscription type, however, free is good for me as well if there is such a thing

Need to hack into it and substitute a little image of an LMTV. Otherwise, I'll be interested to see how this adapts. I know they have them on cars and I know they have them on pickups but I've not seen this type 360 system on an RV (commercial truck, garbage truck, etc). It's all nothing more than correct placement, camera angles, and some math.Appreciate anonymous recommendation on security cameras.
Ordered a similar system to this
360° SURROUND VIEW CAMERA SYSTEM
360° system offers full control of the situation around the car as well as obstacles in «blind» areas thereby significantly increasing safety during reverse driving, parking in a confined space, turning, and other maneuvers.www.gazer.com
I will be honest, I am WAY WAY WAY outside my zone on this stuff...so if you know more, please do not hesitate to chime in or PM me
Great input and thoughts, thank you..I don't know anyone personally using a Renogy inverter but after years of tire-kicking, eye-balling, review-reading, and pondering inverters I've come to believe four things:
- Like most electronics, if they are defective you will discover it within the first 24 hours of running under load
- You'll find 10-15% bad reviews on ALL brands (Victron, Xantrex, Renogy, China-shit, Amazon, Walmart, etc) if you look hard enough
- If you get three years of actual use out of an inverter in an off-road before it fails, you did good
- Repairs (parts) are all but impossible once a model falls off the product line
The ones we ran twenty years ago on yachts and race boats NEVER lived long. Use, exposure to elements, corrosion, vibration and impact all take a toll. My plan is to buy a couple cheap ones, load test them, install one, and carry the second as a spare.
No worries.Great input and thoughts, thank you..
You want to know what works look at the MUSIC TOURING INDUSTRY 99 % of all tour busses use Kubota 4 cyl diesel generators with 20 to 24 k tails on them over 90 % using magnum inverters and DOMETIC PENGUIN II ROOFTOP AC/HEAT and they are there because they cant be beat ! And if you would lose your spare tire and mount it else where start looking for these army light towers at gp and buy the ones that are useing the kubota 905 or 1005 3 cylinder diesel engine and 6 k marathon tails on them if the tail is bad theres a place in georgia sales 8.2 k tail i think i gave 1300 for mine and 750 for the tower so for basicly for 2 grand you have a REAL generator thats going to run around the clock ! In the 80s i worked for a company that wouldnt buy bus air on the coach from the factory and that means that generator ran non stop in that bus from the time it was built 24 hrs a day and 120 buses running ac or heat to the passengers going down the road or parked it had to run and again 30 yrs i never lost a kubota engine ive lost tails rarely and always after 10,000 hrs min every 200 hrs we shut em down long enough to change oil and filters then right back on and theres been times where i didnt get to come home for over a year and that gen ran 24 /7/365 no issues unless you didnt service it regular you might lose a water pump or altenator but they were 30 min fixes !No worries.
I do chuckle when I hear someone poo-poo a brand that they had used....offroad....for a couple years...or with no notable use but never really "burned in 24 hrs to discover fault" and went to use it and it was dead, etc. They ALL can do that. And they are ALL made in China. There is a "luck of the draw" factor on all makes and models. Chinese bin parts are dice rolls and that's how these things are assembled.
I'm still debating my system. At this point I think I will ditch the 6k generator power head (that died at 40 hours over two years, btw...shit fails) and re-install the NOS 24v charging head. Then inverter/solar/etc from there. I'll be 100% off the batteries opposed to 50/50 battery/gen. So I've gone from planning 120v with 12v as needed to 24v inverted to 120v. I'm researching 24v solar at this stage (a lot of big-watt panels available these days).
And as I said, still ~10% of the owners poo-poo them. Industry standard...If you want the absolute best MAGNASINE MS SERIES MAGNUM inverters in 12 or 24 or 36 volt when money is no object every 1 to 2 million dollar coach builder in the U,S, use magnum inverters and in the entertainer coaches these things work 24/7 7 days a week for months on end years on end 30+ yrs of me depending on them i have NEVER had one to go down on me on the road you will replace house batteries every 3 or 4 yrs and they are inverter/charger so self contained either a generator or shore power and the charger keeps everything full on batteries and they can be bought for 1500 bucks for the 2812 model that will do anything any of you will ever need in a big camper/ expedition whatever ! Read up on them but im telling you that they wont be beat at this level of inverting and off roading will never test a inverter like banging a inverter up and down on the east coast on 95 thru New York GW BRIDGE and the CROSS BRONX EXPRESSWAY with potholes you could put a body in ! You want to test something take it to Jersey NY city and some of CT turn it on and drive up there and see if it last a month ! LOL
I'd love to do Victron, Xantrex (again), etc. I just personally don't see the features justifying the added cost. Victron CS has some aweful reviews out there. And they ALL fail at some point, no matter the brand.I have been using an all Victron system for almost four years and can’t say enough good things about them.
But this 10 % is civilians that barely use them and on rare ocassion if they turned it on and ran it 5 or 6 years straight then their reveiws would mean something ! We were like the gorrila in the samsonite commercial its like were trying to kill them and they keep right on working
Funny, I was just looking at the Magnum HybridIf you want the absolute best MAGNASINE MS SERIES MAGNUM inverters in 12 or 24 or 36 volt when money is no object every 1 to 2 million dollar coach builder in the U,S, use magnum inverters and in the entertainer coaches these things work 24/7 7 days a week for months on end years on end 30+ yrs of me depending on them i have NEVER had one to go down on me on the road you will replace house batteries every 3 or 4 yrs and they are inverter/charger so self contained either a generator or shore power and the charger keeps everything full on batteries and they can be bought for 1500 bucks for the 2812 model that will do anything any of you will ever need in a big camper/ expedition whatever ! Oh I'm not disagreeing. I just accept the fact that I'd get a lemon no matter what I purchase.
