Had some catching up to do, and will pass on the petition to other clubs and motor vehicle enthusiasts.

An attack on Freedom is not going to be overlooked by anyone who decides to Voice their concerns about their own Hobby, or even Lifestyle.

There are many Businesses that make a living by using MV's or any kind of Gov. surplus. Attack one class of vehicle or conveyance and like dominoes will fall.

I do not need to preach here, but motivation sure helps.

Thanks to the Canadian MV Leaders that are taking their time, effort, and HEART to take a stand for Freedom. I believe that it will Help in the U.S. as well.

Hello,
I called for the 5th times SAAQ and spoke with the guy who is answering the complaint. He told me my file was review by the committee, but he has no answer to give yet :cookoo::cookoo::cookoo:
So I decided to go at Minister Bonnardel BBQ on September 14th in Granby. Do I have to put that in the events ??? Anyone is more than welcome with me. We can meet at a point in Granby before and head there after. I will probably be with an Aboriginal Grand Chief, as the Government are afraid of them !!!! :-D

Do you fellas have a "travel bureau", AAA or travel agency that would recommend a travel route through Canada from West to East?

They are very helpful with giving away a free map and drawing a line on it to guide you to your destination. They give away brochures of all the places to see along the way. Some even offer reasonable travel insurance in case you're going into third world countries or traveling into unknown territory. Insurance can cover legal costs in some cases so that sounded like a good idea.

AMA offers towing services all across Canada and it's honoured in Quebec. As long as I have my card they say, we'll get you to a safe location. Diebert is safe.

Our agency is called AMA. The Alberta Motor Association.

I asked them to show me a route through Canada to my favorite publicly open Cold War bunker in Nova Scotia.

The route is through Quebec.

I asked if they could check if any of the vehicles on the unofficial list would not be allowed in Quebec.

AMA, "There is nothing on Quebec's website or media releases that say I can't visit Quebec in the vehicles listed".

I asked my AMA front-line girl Justine to check with a supervisor to ensure an Iltis, M923, LSVW or other "Military Vehicles" have no restrictions to travelers.

After a long pause, the reply is clear. "Any vehicle legally insured and registered in another Province or State is free to travel in Quebec."

I just started working on the legions to see if any of them on route have some decent parking and maybe even an overnight spot.

The reactions we get from the veterans when we show up in old MV's all polished up for a parade is amazing. Often, it can only be equaled by the reaction we get from those currently serving.

Arranging some base visits for static displays so the current troops can look through the old gear is always fun.

Providing vehicles for Military Base events is a real treat so I think the place to begin arranging that is with the Defence Minister.

I'm sure someone has already called him because he's responsible for a lot of these same vehicles. I know we're welcome on base so let's open the dialogue.

There are a pile of bases, places and spaces to visit in Quebec but I'm unfamiliar with the area.....and the weather this time of year.

I know you folks can't forecast the weather and with that hurricane pulling all kinds of tricks along the coast, what is the "best guess" at the weather over the next few months along the St Lawrence Seaway?

Does anyone have suggestions on iconic military related places to see through Quebec?

The radar is on folks. Looks like group A is meeting with the Quebec Transportation Minister.

The MV restriction issue needs to be resolved quickly and withdrawn without delay. With our thoughts on the people facing severe weather on the East coast and the loss of life we've already witnessed within the last few days, we need to focus elsewhere.

We'll watch for updates.

I haven't heard back from Tourism Quebec and time is clicking by.

If anyone has future plan to travel to Quebec in a Historical Vehicle that might have been used by the military at one time, Quebec Transport would still like to see it. They're not sure why they want to see it but they gave me a special email address where we can send pictures and dimensions of vehicles we may visit Quebec with.

A "ruling" to determine restrictions to Quebec residents is back in the Minister's hands after meeting with group eh. I don't see a timeline of when a ruling may be made. That doesn't help my travel plans so I'll need to paddle harder.

This seems like the right time to reinforce my desire to visit Quebec and a more complete list of vehicles I might use is on the way.

After again calling the toll free number 1-888-355-0511 pushing "9" for English and "3" for the right department, Joanna at Service put me in contact with Aida at the Transport department.

This is the email address Transport would like me to send questions and information about the vehicles that might visit Quebec.

Once again, the ladies on the phone were angels. Unfortunately, they do not have a fresh 'memo' and Aida at transport thought that SAAQ might be able to tell me more about the restrictions.

I explained how we landed on that shore once already and the final decision would be in the Transportation Minister's capable hands. She is looking forward to seeing the emails.

I've sent a letter expressing future desire to visit Quebec in our former MV truck and trailer combo, M1010 w/M1101, asking if it would be ok to do so.

You may need to represent many people that couldn't be there, but you won't be alone.

Responses like the reply from tourism are starting to cut into my travel plans. They didn't leave a toll free number but if it's a local number in Quebec, maybe the folks nearby can check to see if their friends can visit Quebec in their MV's.

Here's a little snippet below of a letter of support to the transportation minister of Quebec. That poor lad has tough decisions to make all day long. Offering him a ton of support to build confidence on reinstating Historical Military Vehicles could make his day easier. I asked for his position on the restrictions so I can better understand the reasoning. Maybe we can provide more reassurance that our vehicles are safe. It's better than all the nutball rumours that this was some crazy conspiracy to de-value a known inventory of registered historical vehicles so someone's friend could pick them up cheap.......or the one about the 'fear' the vehicles create when certain people see them so getting them off the streets was the only way to calm a segment of the population. Until we see official, written responses, the rumours up here are going to continue to stink. I hope he clears this up soon.

If someone has experience owning and operating a cool historical vehicle, a short email to the minister may go something like this.

I want to keep this as short as possible so I have attached video links below to show the Historical Military Vehicles that we display over the entire continent. Your front-line staff asked for photos and dimensions of vehicles I might bring to Quebec and I don't need to do that at this time.

I have made travel plans to come to Quebec to work on several historical projects and the recent restrictions on Historical Military Vehicles have created some serious questions.

Am I welcome to Quebec in my historical military vehicle?

After contacting SAAQ, SQ and my travel bureau I was told to contact your transport department. The ladies answering the phones are fabulous and worked hard to see if the restrictions affected travelers. They did not have an answer and my holiday time is fast approaching.

I don't understand how historical military vehicles could be restricted so can you please explain your position on the "C" plate restriction?


My friend and neighbour, Nick Bulgar was killed in Afghanistan in protection of Brig.-Gen. Jonathan Vance ten years ago. Since that time I have freely traveled in Historical Military tribute vehicles and participated as a civilian in Military Base command changes, cadet events, airshows, parades in towns surrounding Edmonton and countless public events.

The organizations listed above preserve, restore and display Canadian and Continental history. The MVPA has worked tirelessly since the mid 1970's to ensure safety and public education were primary roles among its membership.

As an advocate for safety, I fully support reinstating the registration on historic vehicle collectors and let the current laws work as they have. Many of the vehicles in question including the M900 series of 5 tons, the Iltis, LSVW, CUCV, and Stewarts are fantastic vehicles to operate and preserve.

I trust that viewing a few seconds of any of the following videos will show you the vehicles we bring when we travel. Please advise me as soon as possible if I'm welcome in Quebec in my historical vehicles.

Starting August 22nd, it's illegal to drive a MV on public road with speed limit more than 70 km/h in the province of Quebec.
I have an Iltis and a M923A2 and received 2 letters from the Government Agency which regulates the permits for cars and truck.
Here's the rules:
1- Cannot drive on roads with speed limit more than 70 km/h
2- We must cross at right angle roads that has speed limit of 70 km/h or more
3- Mandatory mechanical inspection
4- Change the plate number to a restricted vehicle
5- Cannot have a turret or an anchor system for guns

Well, I must say those are the stupidiest rules I've seen so far in the province of Quebec.

I don't realy know what to do with that and my vehicles lost a great value with that now auaauaauaauaauaauaauaaua

Once again, what a cool reception from the ministers front-line staff. If this gets corrected quickly, every one of those girls...and the minister of course....deserve accommodations. I saw some rumours on the net so had to ask. They agree la plaque 'c' doit aller dans les toilettes and don't know when. I was hoping you got something today however it's not over until JC sings. Let us know what you know.

I’m away from home. Coming back tonight. I’ve heard about this rumour, but I don’t know yet.

I received a phone call yesterday from my deputy asking id SAAQ moved on something. I told them no. He asked if I’m willing to sign a proxy, so he can contact them directly for my file. I did that and I have no news since yesterday. Will enquire Monday.

On an other hand, Bonnardel decided to cancel his annual BBQ because of the weather

Typical CYA lawyer talk. Hmmm... I have seen a ton of these on the public roads. You mean to tell me AMG produced vehicles that were driven that were unsafe to Military personnel and civilians? Exempt huh? blah blah blah.....
