Webflis is the same system used by the military. There’s a civilianized data base that’s got beau ceau info on almost every stock number in existence. You need to register but it’s pretty easy. As for the stock number: 2540014384960 reads 2540-01-438-4960. 2540 is the stock class. It determines what the type of an item is generally. 01 and 00 are country codes for the US. The rest are used to identify a specific item.
I used the system, with higher authority permission, to procure 6 1/2 UH-1H’s. To this day I still get razzed about that project...

It looks like it will completely cover a HMMWV. That is not a HMMWV part.
Exactly. You can also look in the -24P TM, for the proper cover, and compare the NSN's I listed to what in the TM.

2540014384960 Replaces 00-522-9060 and 01-438-4960.
Supposed to fit a Trk, Cgo, 2 1/2 ton 2330-00-077-1618, M36A2.

Here is a tip. One of the replaced NSN's and the Truck it fits, has a 00 as the fifth and sixth numbers. In the late 70's we started using 01, like Jeff mentioned above. So any part that has a 00 insted of 01, is a 1970's or older part. So it will not fit your Hummer.
