Chances are that even if you find out who made it you will not get anywhere with them if they are even still in business. They pretty much keep all that info within the system. They may tell you what manual you need to buy but now that you know it is a 400 hz. unit how much do you want to spend on it? The engine and hydraulics may be of use. I cannot think of any practical use for 1000 amps of 28 volts unless you are powering a very large comm center. A very, VERY large one.

It would start a deuce in 40 blow zero without any other starting aids! All you would need to do is get the Detroit powering that unit started first.

400hz..... Well you could light up a stadium with incandescent lighting, power a gigantic oven (as long it is has no blowers or any other 60hz electronic controls. 45 kva 3ph 120v is pretty big. That should be a bit over 200A capacity.

To convert it to 60hz would probably not be economically feasible. It does look cool though. A driveable genset would be sort of handy. I have my 803 on a trailer and where I'm "allowed" to keep it parked means if the power goes out I have to then get my truck, go get it and move it near the house. If I could just drive it to the house that would be incredibly handy. The hydraulic system could also be very useful.

Oh yea of little faith. There are civ applications for 400 hertz. Just have to look. Not millions, but there are some.

Motor Generator application comes to mind, the reverse of what we had in our old computer room. There we had a three phase 60 cycle motor spinning a 400 cycle generator to product the electricity for an IBM mainframe. It was in it's own 10 x 15 foot room and i'm pretty sure it was direct drive.

Thgis is how all Missle site run, when not on tac power. We had a 100 KW and a 60 KW "converter"-It ran on German power, to produce the 120/208, 400 cycle power we needed. Sadly, do to a misunderstanding between German and American Electrical Engineers, the converters never worked right. Germans ground everything to the same place. The tac site fence was grounded there also. When the wend blew, the plastic covered chain link fence, built up static electricity. This in turn was "back fed" into out missile system. The system would simply not work right. We had all kinds of system failures. But it only happened when the wind blew. No one could figure it out, so we ran tac power 24/7, 365 days a year. Then one windy day, a Raytheon rep was trying to find out why we had voltage on the ground system, When he disconnected the fence ground, a HUGE FAT BLUE SPARK traveled from the ground to the cable.
