need help with markings

i have a 68 m35a2 that i want to repaint. My dad was in the USMC and was killed in the '83 Lebanon bombing. He was attached to the 24th MAU.

I want to know what style paint (pattern) and USMC marking that would have been common then. I am not looking to be exact, but as long as the truck looks like it could be from that time frame.
