That's a real fitting tribute to your father that you plan to carry on. And that's a fine looking restoration.
My grandfather was a Brigadier General (armour) WWII, and I had great fun tooling around in the Willys he brought back stateside after the war (through official sanction or some kind of midnight requisition I never really knew, but it sure was fun to drive)!
With that short wheelbase that thing would pitch and buck like a bronco out in the hilly pasture country where he kept the jeep and lived out his final days. It was fun!
