New Gama Goat Owner. Help! How do I connect the cargo section???

Hello All,
I feel blessed to be the new caretaker of a very nice, fully operational Gama Goat (well, sort of fully operational...). The previous owner did not have the ability to transport the Goat to parades, etc so he fabricated a system to pull the Cab with his Deuce and a half and the cargo section with a one ton truck. Well, I purchased it in two pieces and would like to reconnect them. Where do I start and what do I need???

I would start by talking with the previous owner if he is still available. Does it appear that everything is still there? It's possible the previous owner may have removed or modified some things. I would also read the TMs regarding removing and re-attaching the trailer portion.

Well you are in luck, the Goat TMs are available on this site, go to forums/technical manuals/Korean to Viet Nam era vehicles. I have never separated the tractor from the trailer, wouldn't think this is a good idea, but the truck is set up to come apart there. You have to reconnect the yaw joint, the drive shaft, the steering shaft, and the qd's for the vent lines and brake lines, and plug in the intervehicular electrical connector.

What TM do you have? Go to the TM section. Look in :Korean War to VietNam War Vehicles TMs. There are the Truck TM's, and the ENGINE TM's.

Download then all. If you need help with TM's, say something. People here are good at that

What kinda game? I bought a Gama Goat with my Dad and he was going to help me connect the halves. He was killed and now I have no idea how to do it. Sadly I am NOT the mechanic he was...
I looked through and downloaded the TM's and have had no success finding a portion that shows how to re-connect the halves. Even if I do find it I do not have the mechanical ability or a shop to reconnect it, thus my search for someone to do it for me...

SO once again, what game Sir?

OK, you now have the books, and have read them.

Now, you have the carrier, and trailer. Pull the trailer and carrier up to one another. The drive shaft is connected to the transfer, by a U-Joint. I hope that just the shaft U-Joints are removed and the Air, Hyd/brake and electrical quick disconnects are all that were removed. Pictures would help. Also pictures of "Extra parts" in a box? Or someplace?

Looks like you have most of the major items , you need to remove that "TOW BAR" set up so you can see if anything has been cut/altered on the frame . Do you have all the hardware/pins etc. needed to reconnect ??? baby steps for sure .

Babysteps for sure!! Don't rush or force things. If your a frog flyer, you know about some mechanixs and theories. See and measure how it lines up. Remember, this is NOT rocket science...............NO JATO!! Machine was designed for a ROUGH and chaotic environment. IF they designed it to come apart, they designed it to go back together. Whether ALL the appropriate parts and cables are there is yet unknown. 19 year old maintained it, hell. Was/is a great idea reaching out. You WILL get the help ya need, there are some TRULY amazing people here!! Try the PM feature, makes things a bit more "private". There are a bunch of people in the Goat forum............................Best of luck and I know you'll get the help you need to get her together, understand her, work on her, and even keep her goin.
