Hi guys another newcomer in town and he's lookin for military hardware. My name is Tyler and I'm a newly aquainted 4x4 enthusiast. My intrepid interest first stemed from working on cars and trucks in a fab transmision shop insouth west NC with my father. My dad and I were always dreaming up things to do and building gokarts and sand rails. Well, the day I turned 13, he unveiled something I had always wanted: a rusted out POS, dented and beat up 67 fastback mustang. Well, 3 years 1500 hrs and $20,000 later, "Elanore jr"was street and tire smoking worthy.
Then tragically in October of last year, my father a former Marine, suffered a heart attack and died at the age of 45. that same month, be made me promise that I would take care of my mother and to enjoy what liitle time we have on this Earth. my father had always talked about building a buggy from a surplus truck to comemorate the good ol days and pay tribute to his fallen comrades. Well, that's what I'm here for. Not to commemorate his friends, but all US troops who have given their lives for this country and to all those who make it home safely. My first build I promise will be a memorial like no other and it will be with my Fathers honor.
So anyway, thats the majority of my reason for being here as well as general sociality and information gathering
For those of you who've read this post to it's entirety you have my gratitude
Thank you for your time
