Hey everybody! I am a new guy and looking to take my first step into ownership of a Deuce. I have never really been a member of a message board before so this is all new to me.

I have always wanted a Deuce since I joined the military and rode on one in basic Training.

I have been looking at one in NC : M35A2 Deuce 6x6 2 1/2 ton truck

Is there a list on here stating what new deuce owners should expect to pay, or what we should look for in purchasing one of these monsters?

Thanks for any help or recommendations of reading material.

Ther is a lot to ownership of a deuce. It can get costly as I am finding out now with the brakes and bearings in my truck. The best thing you can do for now is to read as much as you can on ths site. There is a lot of good information on what to look for in a deuce. Also try to find some members that are close to you to show you around one to make sure this is something you really want and so you don't spend a lot of money just for a lawn ornament.

That would be a smoking deal for a truck like that with tow bar in Kansas. The D is the non-whistler turbo. I thought I wanted a C or whistler until I actually bought one. Now I am glad I had the D first. Much nicer to live with. If you do not mind getting dirty and are mechanically inclined, jump right in there! They are simple to work on and somebody here always has the parts you are needing. Glen

Welcome aboard!

Whenever you feel a question coming on ... use the "search" function first. There is a LOT of information stored away ... you'll find the answer to your questions easier and generally faster if you use the search.

You might want to look down in the Deuce hotrodding and modification thread... there's a LOT of good stuff over there too!

I will add my welcome as well. I joined the ranks earlier this year with the purchase of an A3. I can not overemphasize what has been said. Read, Read, Read, Search, and then Read some more. The trucks are awesome. I enjoy driving and wrenching on mine. That said, know what you are getting into. I think I had Lady Luck on my side and got a great rig. Looking back, I could have made some big mistakes due to lack of knowledge and lack of due diligence.

Just my 2cents

That is a good deal on that 2 1/2 ton looks nice and straight.
I just checked the ad ... WOW

A hard top, winch, electric wipers, AND a decent looking paint job. If the interior is a nice as the exterior ... and it runs (and stops!!!) as good as it looks ...

... you got a pretty good deal!

Thanks for all the information guys. I have been reading all day.

I believe my main issue will be the Mechanical side of it. I am not a wrench turner at all. I think a Deuce will be a rough toy to start with.

We will see. I will keep reading up on the subject.

They are simple and while the TMs are sometimes aggravatingly redundant, they will walk you trhough. The toughest part for me is finding the correct TM. Glen

Haven't seen that one in person.......But I was thinking about buying it, bought one a little closer to me and not as nice as that one looks. When I was looking at it he was wanting $6000. It's been on Ebay a few times and kept getting cheaper. That is a very good price on that truck for this area. You'll like it here with all the info. and help these guys have to offer although there is alot of those that want to add to there post count and just tell you to search rather that answer your questions. (new here as well....just an observation)

oh that is a nice truck, thanks for the link, you keep reading, I'm gonna go get my purse:twisted:.
Mr. Morgan is one lucky man. While my wife is VERY supportive, there is no alternative reality in which I can imagine her saying "I'll get my purse" as she headed out the door to snag a Deuce. Good on you!

Welcome, there's a LOT of good info and people here. But make sure you read the forum rules really well, if you break one of the rules someone will be sure to let you know about it. But don't let that getcha down! You're probably gonna have to invest in some basic tools, some of which will be big and heavy. Remember to BE SAFE!!
