I picked up a 1986 CUC-V from my uncle, and wanting to see what I can find out about it's history. I know I am at least the third private owner, but I don't think it has been messed with much. I was told 66k, but pretty sure it is really 166k miles. Has some rust in the usual places. Still has radio connector under the dash. I'm not sure if the Warn winch has always been on or not. And I would like to get the night lights working again. I will do some searching before making other posts.
Thanks!

I can say that, while it is possible that a military unit added the winch, it is not stock. I don't believe I've seen another CUCV that came out of the military with a winch, but I bet it may have happened! Nice straight looking truck. Regardless, if the winch install looks good and it works, I'd keep it and be happy with it!
