Some unsolicited advice here- If the fuel pump gives you any problems call Alfa Heaven and buy the replacement upgrade. I've replaced, rebuilt cobbled, ran racing pumps, aftermarket pumps, cleaned filters and everything in between. That upgrade is well worth the money! You may be able to get around the farm or town, but when it gives up just cannot limp it 178 miles home. Don't ask me how I know this...

Does anyone have any pics of the windshield seal replacement the way gunfreak25 had posted about earlier using the sealant tape? Hambone

There are a couple ways you can find gunfreaks palate. One way is to click on his name.....then 'view forum posts'. It's a busy gunfreak so lots to scroll through. You can also go back through the Early Deuce Forum and dig until you find it.

Once you find the particular thread that might help answer your question, reply to that thread with any new info or pics you can add. It will also bump those great quality threads to the top of the forum so they are easier to find for others.

I ran out of time so had All-West-Glass cut 2 sets of front windows and if I keep workin' 20hr days I will pay them to install glass their way and get some more pics of the process.

I've checked all of those pics out, I thought someone may have pics of the installed windshield. I'm particularly interested in the way he put the seals on the main windshield frame. I have new glass but do I need to trim all the old rubber seal around the outside of the windshield frame and then install the sticky backed seal around the main windshield frame?

Been cold down here in the south, slow progress on the 211. Rebuilt water pump and changed tranny fluid, now experimenting with color, think I will go with this one. Hambone

Bought my water pump rebuild kit from Memphis Equip.,the seals in the kit was not like the ones in pump, kit contained a fiber washer w/ ears, collapsible seal, water pump shaft, a metal dished washer and the impeller. Put it together how I thought it would go but it is leaking again, does anyone have a breakdown of the water pump rebuild?. My manual only shows water pump replacement, has anyone put one of these kits in? If so, let me know what I did wrong. The seal in the kit didn't fit tight around the shaft?? Maybe it seals on the end of the seal??

PIA when you go to the trouble to do something right, but then you get no instructions (or even more frustrating: instructions are hazy and unclear).

Wish I could help you here, but beyond my pay grade. Someone likely to chime in though. Did you try a call to Memphis?

That's how I put it in, sure is funny the old seal fit tight on shaft, new one didn't. Old one had a metal washer with rubber seal on end, new one had fiber washer.

I finally got around to replacing the outer seals on the windshield, a lot of poking with a dull screwdriver, turned out good tho.

Finally got my front windshields finished, does anyone know where I can find oval side glass for the hardtop or should I pull my old hardened seals and take them to the glass shop? Thanks, Hambone

Well I'm back on the M211, starting the brake rebuild, didn't look as bad as I thought it would, actually the shoes are in great shape. Think I will order the wheel cyl. boots from NAPA, pistons looked good, think I will give them a light hone and put them back together, hope the rest of them look as good as this one did. Want to replace the seals in all the hubs, tho they are not leaking, might as well do it while I have it torn down, where is the best place to purchase the seals and master cylinder? I now have all the glass replaced, just haven't installed them yet, the M35 outer windshield seal worked out great, just time consuming, need to order new canvas seat covers, any suggestions on the best place for seat covers? Still need to do a little work on the exhaust then I should be ready to install the bed and throw some paint on this bad boy, sounds easy but it won't happen overnight.:D Hambone

Master Cylinder

I did a quick search for ""M135 Master Cylinder"" and found a few sources so unless someone has an extra one here, ,,,'search' for someone close to you. I think they were around $114.00.

Seat covers,

I headed to my local, small guy upholsterer and he knew what to do. Same deal with searching,,,, I found a few Beachwood Canvas types so you just need someone close and convenient. Matching material was a little tough so we hope you find some good canvas.....and take pictures.

Seals and bearings

There is a little challenge with the outer seal, "updated, out of date", part # 9427, and they may be more difficult to find than the inners.

When you're talking to the NOS suppliers, ask what they might have on the shelf for the outer seals.

Please post up any part numbers you find. I'll add them to the part list if we don't have it listed already.

Best place to buy seals...I found most of mine on RockAuto for reasonable price. Most of my outer wheel seals were able to be reused, but I did find NOS ones on eBay to have on hand. I have had many parts places looking for a modern equivalent and have had no luck so far. That seal was discontinued many years ago from what I have been told.

Wheel cylinder cups and boots are hit and miss availability from Napa. Are your cylinders 1-1/4" or 1-3/8" bore? I just finished doing my brakes a couple months ago. All of my wheel cylinders had to be replaced. I got some 1-1/4" bore cylinders from a surplus dealer on eBay that were supposed to be exact replacements and are new manufacture. (They are guarding the part number closely.) Anyway, I wish I would have gotten the Canadian surplus 1-3/8" bore from another surplus dealer out of Canada (Niagara Military Parts if I am not mistaken) since the ones I got took some modification to fit properly. They do not pose a safety problem, just could have been cast and machined better. Rebuild kits for the Canadian cylinders are readily available. Next truck that I do the brakes on is getting the 1-3/8" cylinders. Hindsight 20/20 and all now.
