I just had another 3053a quit on me in my m35a2. I have a 1969 C50 with a NP540 5 speed that I believe is a over drive. It looks as if it would be a simple swap. It looks to have a small u joint on the out put. It looks to be a 1410 u joint. It has a rear facing pto which I want. I has a provision for another pto also witch might come in handy later if I choose to add a front winch. Does anyone know If this transmission will work in the deuce?

given that in the last 15 years, there have never been any transmission discovered that will replace the 3053, i really doubt it now. length is always a BIG issue.

I'm pretty sure I've seen people bolt the 3053A to a Chevy bellhousing so, I would think it may work if it fits in the same space. Not going to be a direct bolt in, obviously.

New to this site. Might anyone know where or if there is a location on the NP540 (1970 Americn-Colemen M4) for a back up switch. Since I do not currently have a service manual, I'm guessing at this time.

I think it's on the shifter housing. My buddy has a Dodge L600 with a 361 & NP540 and I remember it having the standard Chrysler 2 prong manual transmission switch on the top cover/shifter housing.
