Ok guys....I am new to all this, but have always wanted deuce. My wife has recently softened up on her stance against it, and has suggested a humvee. So my questions are how does one go about purchasing a vehicle, where is the best place to look, what would be the average price of a decent deuce or humvee, and how difficult is it to get one street legal (registration and such)......any assistance would be appreciated.

Look at Gov Planet and search past sales. I recommend looking at the ones for sale near you as transportation up the final price. Pay close attention to the pics and Videos as on site inspection is not always an option and in a lot of places not available. Registration is straightforward in Texas and a simple process.

Look around SS, there are lots of info on whats a good first truck! It all depends on your skills and your wife's, you will enjoy it more if shes involved and if you get something she can't handle you'll not be happy! Also what are you skills as a mechanic, and look at the member maps and see if there are people close to you that can give tips and maybe even a club where you may get to pretest a certain vehicle! There are many options, so good luck and have fun!

Doin the mechanic work don't bother me....used to work on trucks for a living, it's the paperwork side that I'm trying to understand
As Gralmk stated take a look around SS. I'm sure there are some good trucks available with the paper work already taken care of.
