Gentlemen, I purchased a 4 man soft top 998 (1988) 6.2 ,3 speed.
What should I do to make it better and more reliable ?
I have read about and ordered a ground strap kit.
What should I look for and stay on top of?

1. Download the TM’s and read them.

2. Read every post in this forum. All the questions you have are answered here.

3. Check your hub spindle nuts before you drive it.

Welcome to the madness.

Start with some basics. Oil Change, lube all fittings, and Coolant flush. My coolant was nasty and the system had lots of mud in it. Check all fluids and change as you can get to them.

Check air pressure in tires and bring up to 30-35. Most are severely underinflated.

Have fun.

Give everything a good look....
