I don't know if they were putting on engine tags (like Cummins), but there may be a year on it.

Post your VIN and maybe we can figure it out. The multifuel 5 tons were built from about 1965 to 1969, when the 800 series replaced them.

Might work but check the front spring hangers for date it was stamped. Seems too have been correct on my 1970's 5 tons.
