I tried to find an NSN for the door and handle for the MEP 802A. The part number is wrong. The door handle doesn't come up with right NSN or Part number.
The number I have for the Door is: P/N 88-20198, Handle: NSN 5340-01-379-0893, P/N S79SDTXXSXXXX. Never seen a part number like that one. Any help will appreicated. Towbarman

Just make a post under "parts wanted" saying you need such n' such door for an MEP-802A, the boys will do the rest. There's a few fellas on here who keep machines to sell parts from. Just describe which door you need by what's behind it...it's either the side with the coolant overflow tank, or the side with the oil dipstick.

On the long chance nobody has one presently, a quick search on eBay will get you what you need, there's been some recreation of new spec doors lately.

LITD can help you. But for now on, open a parts wanted thread.

1. There is no number for the DOOR & Latch. The door, or the latch, but not as one piece.
2. Anytime you see a part number that starts with: 88-*****, that means that the number is generated by CECOM. Its nothing more that a "Filler". And I have seen lots of part numbers like S79SDTXXSXXXX. Its from: A L Hansen Manufacturing Company

3. The part number is not wrong. See above.

Me a lowly little Retired 2 Maintenance MOS Warrant Officer who made CW4 with 3 masters degrees and 4 master mechanic certs and a retired CECOM P&E LAR Master Tech and Action Officer for the Planet. I made the info, so i gave it to you so you stay the Guy like you supposed to. Can't mess with a good working thing. Besides I don't know how yet. Probably make a post and load it up for 100 gigs of stuff. We got to have a cold one over this and laugh. Be out there in Vilseck next week for a week doing taxes and playing fix a house a little. I can say "I don't Know" and for a little time I can enjoy being able to do that before I croak and join my wife again. I could not do that for over 45 years. Remember? I do. If I can figure out what the member is saying, maybe I can provide info and all gets good, Miller Time. Made the extra info to assist Soldiers around the planet when I was in the office someplace. I heard it really helped so i continued for 20 years. I am sorry if I relate things to GI Joe land but that's what I did for 47 years. Was shot at last time in 2013 in Afghanistan. Don't tell my wife. She would die again. Today i just try to survive the autobahn or driving to Aldi. :) This may assist keeping gray matter together a while longer. Can't let the last two gray cells rust you know. We both are fossils from a time past. No more missile sites, No EPPs, No Spook equipment, no more sleeping on the dozer track, we just need to fade away making room for the next generation as they are supposed to be better as we trained them. I know a few TACOM Bubbas and P&Ers out here and will ask them to look into the forum. Most are full up of the stuff by now from door knobs who don't read the manuals and try. Some folks just can't do all that so I keep that in mind. 70% of Soldiers I worked with could not read and do. It is an ability not everyone has. Took several years for me to realize this. It drives the train that we can't blow the whistle on. We the silent ones in the back ground that make it all work. I played Commander of the 517th Maintenance Company; I did not like it. You found your nitch, and are doing well so you need to stay there. Engineers stay together and I got your back.

@LuckeyD Many thanks for the hard earned and hard learned pearls of wisdom. It sounds like you helped keep the wheels on the bus when it really counted. Thanks.

Some of us are trying to keep our two grey cells running by learning new things, and I definitely appreciate wisdom from those who have "been there, done that".

All the best,
