Been interested in military vehicles for a long time but they didn't let me bring one home. Finally bit the bullet this fall and started working on a neglected M151A2. Every winter I start a project to keep me off the couch until warmer weather (I live near Buffalo NY, The MIAMI of the North). Last year it was 3 Harleys that got flooded in hurricane Sandy. They are gone so I am in the garage almost daily working on the M151. Learning a lot. Looking forward to learning more from this site. Thanks, XChief. :naner:

Yeah, welcome for sure. You must have a heated garage in Buffalo. Not exactly T-shirt weather there!
Hope to see some pics.

We have a few 151's in our club . I can fill you in on the local shows and such . The pictures are from July at Marine Appreciation Day in NT . Just remember ONE MV is not enough ! they are like HEARD ANIMALS , they like a crowd ! LOL :tank:

My brother went to Dartmouth College (Hanover NH), and I remember visiting him now and then in the deep winters there, when him and his buddies:

- WOULD be hanging out in T-shirts

- in the full outdoors

- drinking beers (Dartmouth, what can I say).

It was always COLD to me, but I'll admit it was sunny and usually NO wind. They didn't mind.

Maybe your blood gets thicker up there, like they say. But considering all that drinking, MY conclusion was it had to be getting thinner. Hey, who knows?!

Anyway. Welcome XChief, from down here in (sometimes sunny) Virginia.

Welcome, XChief! I have a 1968 M151A1. I drive it quite often to run to town and back. Also have an M35A2 I just got this fall. Love it too. But, back to the point, welcome to a fine site and a great bunch of people!

Looking forward to the local get togethers. If I keep my nose to the grindstone, should be ready to roll in late spring. So far took the ROPS off, wanted the open look. Restored the gas tank and new lines. Working on some rust in passenger floor and battery box right now. Right side rocker panel was smashed almost all flat and got it back to near where it should be. The good part is that it runs fine and not much mechanical will be needed. Just has dents about everywhere it could be dented. Learning a lot. Thanks for the welcome guys. X
