Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
I would have thought when you were a kid oil just bubbled up out of the ground and no one knew what it was !I like the cargo cover! When I finish my diesel 715, it will have bows, troop seats, and tarp. I have a complete set I will be using, so if you need measurements of any of it, holler. (I don't have a tarp yet).
It's been a long time since I've seen oil in cans! I remember display racks of cans next to the pumps at gas stations.
I still have one of those stab spouts in one of my tool boxes. I've been saving it to put on a BII display in front of a truck at a show. It would be fun to show it to younger folks and see if they had any clue what it was.
Cheers

In 1969 and 1970 I worked in a gas station, for $1.10 an hour. Good money for a kid. Full service. I stabbed about a billion cans of oil. Yeah, been a long time since I saw a spout. We did not even have them in the Army units I was in. Pocket knife was good enough. You will have to ask 1000 people before you find one who knows what its for.
They might as well be pink if they dont match ! Tighten up !Shhhh....
